— FAQs —
When should we book catering for our event?
We recommend booking as early as possible, especially for weddings, holiday events, and peak seasons. Many popular dates book several months in advance.
As a general guideline:
Weddings & large events: 6–12 months in advance
Corporate events: 1–3 months in advance
Smaller gatherings & Black Box Catering: 2–6 weeks in advance
If your event is coming up soon, still reach out — we may still have availability.
When do we choose our menu?
Menu selections are typically finalized closer to the event date after guest counts and logistics become more clear.
Most clients finalize menus: 2–6 weeks before the event
Our team will guide you through the process and timeline based on your specific event type.
A signed agreement and non-refundable retainer are required to secure your event date.
Deposit amounts vary depending on:
Event size
Service style
Staffing needs
Overall event scope
Because we reserve your date, staffing, and production capacity specifically for your event, dates are not held without a signed agreement and deposit.
How much is the deposit?
What is your cancellation policy?
Deposits and retainers are non-refundable because your event date, staffing, and production time are reserved specifically for your event.
If an event is canceled, additional charges may apply depending on:
How close the cancellation is to the event date
Product ordering already completed
Staffing commitments already scheduled
Full cancellation details are outlined in your catering agreement.
Do you accommodate dietary restrictions?
Yes. We regularly accommodate dietary needs including:
Gluten-free
Vegetarian
Vegan
Dairy-free
Nut allergies
Please let us know about dietary restrictions as early as possible so we can help guide menu planning appropriately.
What’s the difference between Black Box Catering and Full-Service Catering?
Black Box Catering is designed for events that want elevated food and presentation without onsite staffing. Food is professionally prepared and packaged with setup guidance, but the client manages serving and cleanup.
Full-Service Catering includes staffing, buffet management, setup, guest support, and cleanup for a more hands-off hosting experience.
Can you help us determine which catering option fits our event?
Absolutely. One of the most common things we help clients figure out is which level of catering support makes the most sense for their event.
Some events only need professionally prepared food and simple delivery, while others benefit from setup support, buffet presentation, staffing, or full event assistance.
We’re happy to walk through your:
Guest count
Event style
Budget
Venue logistics
Service expectations
…to help recommend whether Black Box Catering or Full-Service Catering would be the best fit for your event.
Wondering if we’re available for your date?
